Air Conditioners

Air Conditioners have become a part of our everyday life; we have several choices we are able to choose from depending on your needs & what you are looking for;

Evaporative,

  • Portable
  • Window
  • Central ducted cooling
  • Ducted heating & cooling

Refrigerated,

  • Portable
  • Window
  • Wall unit
  • Central
  • Split System
  • Heating & cooling

Which are you looking for?

  • Evaporative work efficiently when you leave your windows & or doors open
  • Refrigerated work at their best when the place is locked up

I'm sure in the not too distant future you won't find a house without one type or another.  The Air Conditioner has come a long way since the old Evaporative one sitting in the corner with the bucket to keep topping it up with water. I'm sure the 1st air conditioners would have been a wet hessian bag strung up with a fan behind it.

Air Conditioners can be installed by the professional or self installed if you have any Handyman skills. The Split system air conditioners come with an installation kit with pipe work fitting etc including the refrigerant gas in a gas cylinder to release in the system once installed.

I personally prefer the Refrigerated air conditioner having the place locked up for security & peace of mind that when either at home or out I'm not inviting in the unwanted. If you have little kids running in & out of the house all day, the Evaporative Air Conditioners might be worth looking at, just remember to lock up the place when you go out.

Just a couple of hints worth thinking about; It's a good idea to check that you have good insulation in your roof to stop all your cool air ending up in the roof. Also if you have refrigerated air conditioning then it's a good idea to keep blinds and or curtains drawn as this keeps your rooms cool and doesn't have your air conditioner working overtime to try and keep the room at that just right temperature. Most of your cooling will be drawn to the glass in windows that have no curtains or blinds.
